Elisabeth Wilson Scratch Trophy Final

Elisabeth Wilson Scratch Trophy Final

The Elisabeth Wilson Scratch Trophy Final took place on Sunday 26 September at Stockport Golf Club. Many thanks to Stockport for hosting the event. The weather was fine and the course and catering were both excellent. What an amazing day.  The Final took place between Sandiway GC (Rian Moores, Megan Sumner, Poppy Finlay, Barbara Laird and Jane Burke) and Bromborough GC (Caroline Berry, Sophie Clafton, Louise McLoughlin, Isabel May, and Jan McGowan) and what a match it was.  With some excellent golf played the match was as close as you could possibly wish for, with one match going to the 17th, two going to the 18th, one going to the 19th, and one going to the 21st!! Stupendous and exciting play by all those who took part. Congratulations to Sandiway on winning such a well fought match – golf was also definitely the winner today. Thank you to Lis Wilson for presenting the trophy, and many thanks also to Jenny Turner who, after 5 years of running this event, is now taking a well earned rest. Thank you again Jenny.
