Affiliation boosts Marton Meadows

Marton Meadows Golf Club situated between Macclesfield and Congleton on the A34 was formed in 1998 and recently joined the Cheshire Union of Golf Clubs.
Very quickly they have linked closely with the CUGC providing excellent training and coaching facilities enjoyed by Cheshire junior golfers.
Chad Parker, the General Manager at Marton Meadows outlined details of the history of the club, how it has grown and developed and how it is looking to link further with the CUGC
Chad said: “The club was formed in 1998 by local farmer Tony Darbyshire. The site was then purchased from Mr Darbyshire in 2017 by Kyle & Kelle Hares, who invested huge amounts of funding to modernise the facilities and improve the all round offering of Marton Meadows Golf, which now includes a state of the art double simulator, a Toptracer powered practice range and (soon to be finished) impressive new clubhouse.
“It is an honour to be involved with CUGC and for them to use our facilities to teach and help improve their juniors golf is immense for us, especially with us being such a small set up.
“It just strengthens the fact that our site may not be that big, but it certainly packs a punch with its quality of facilities.
“Being a member of CUGC also helps us keep on top of Safe Golf and also puts us in for a slope rating which is very important as our course is currently being extended.
“We help Cheshire Juniors by providing a safe, warm and modern environment that is bursting with technology.
“This helps the youngsters monitor, maintain and enhance their progress.
“Our simulator room is initially used as a classroom, so that the coaching PGA Professional instructors can teach the theory side using projected displays and then at the flick of a switch the room becomes a serious golf simulator, so that everything they have just learned from the theory can be put into practice.”
