Doris Chambers Cup

Doris Chambers Cup

After Bernie Bottman’s Hole in One at the East Cheshire Shield Finals at Wilmslow on Monday, ANOTHER HOLE IN ONE followed in the Final of the Doris Chambers Cup which was held on Tuesday and Wednesday,14 & 15 September, at Delamere Forest Golf Club, which provided a marvellous venue for this prestigious competition. After some good quality golf from all the players in the earlier rounds Julia Gibson and Julia Mountfield from Wallasey GC and Denise Booth and Hilary Craven from Romiley GC eventually fought their way to the Final.  We witnessed some wonderful golf, including the Hole in One by Julia Gibson, as the two couples contested the Final round.  It was eventually won on the 18th green by the two Julia’s. Well done ladies. It was a joy to watch the golf and the spirit in which it was played. Congratulations also to Tessa Day and VictoriaTurner from Delamere Forest GC who won the Foursomes Stableford competition held on the Wednesday.
