Cathy looking for a bright year ahead for Cheshire Girls

Cheshire Girls County Junior Organiser Cathy Day is looking forward to a busy and exciting year in 2025.

Cathy (pictured above) is a member of Sandiway Golf Club and she outlined her plans and hopes for the New Year.

Cathy said: “I have been the Girls County Junior Organiser (now Cheshire Golf – Girls Manager) for the past 18 months.

“It’s a role I really love and enjoy and it gives me great pleasure to watch our players at County training, matches and competitions as they develop their golfing skills and build new friendships.

“As head of the Cheshire Junior Girls Committee, our plans for 2025 and beyond are to continue the great work started by our predecessors at CCLGA for our existing county girls.

“Also since merging with Cheshire Union, we are able to re-introduce Beginner level coaching groups across the county to encourage more girls under the age of 12 to come forward and play at County level.

“We’re also planning to have more skills competitions throughout the season to encourage ALL girls, regardless whether they have a handicap or not, to take part.

“My aim is to get as many girls meeting and playing together across the county as possible.

“Also since the merger, we have the opportunity to run mixed competitions too. Watch this space….. :-)”
