The Cheshire Cat competition enjoyed another great two days at Wilmslow and Stockport Golf Clubs with 132 top players from across the country playing in the World Amateur Ranking event. The Cheshire Cat involves 36 holes at Wilmslow playing for the Wlmslow Crow Trophy and the Stockport Salver at Stockport
Matty Griffiths, 17, a member of the Cheshire Boys team squad, broke the Lymm course record on Sunday with a blistering 63. A Lymm member, he was playing in the Mid-Cheshire Junior League and had a phenomenal front nine of 29 that included a run of birdie, birdie, eagle, birdie.
A quality group of over 50 players enjoyed the Cheshire Men’s Senior Championships played at the fabulous facilities, on and off the course, at Vicars Cross Golf Club. With such a talented group of players in the field it was a great competition which went to the wire of the
Didsbury Captain Martin Caddick enjoyed a very busy and long Captain’s Day. The weather was very kind despite a poor forecast and the course was in great condition. The day started at 7am and play finished at 6pm and included the traditional meet up at Simons Bridge with Withington’s Captain
