Clare Styles wins top MDLGA Trophy

Clare wins top MDLGA Trophy

The Manchester and District Ladies Golf Association (founded in 1902) have long strong links with Cheshire ladies for many years hosting their competitions and providing top officials for the MDLGA including this year’s President Jill Rose (Ringway GC).

The MDLGA held the Bunty Booth qualifying competition final at Whitefield Golf Club, organised by Sue Moult.

It was a fantastic day of golf with a strong turnout and some excellent scores.

The entrants for the competition win their own club qualifier in the previous season and 71 clubs were represented in the final with over 30 from Cheshire clubs.

Congratulations to Clare Styles of Ellesmere Golf Club, who took first place with an impressive 41 points

She finished two ahead of Jean Brain (Davenport) who won a cpo from Tiff Fielden (Hale), Anne Parkins (Alderley Edge) and Dawn Jones (Werneth).

The top MDLGA competition is the Bell Club Inter Club Match Play KO featuring the top seven ladies in their clubs.

This year Ringway GC will host the final and the reigning champions are Heyrose GC who are through to the last 16 clubs in round three where they take on Davyhulme Park GC.

The other Cheshire clubs through to round three are Hazel Grove, Mellor, Prestbury and Hale.
