99th Men’s County Championship at Wilmslow

The wonderful Wilmslow Golf Club will host our 99th Men’s County Championship beginning on Thursday 26th June. This will be the 10th that has been held at Wilmslow.

We have a strong field of 96 players from across the county who will all be trying to get their name on the historic trophy, this includes the holder and winner for the last two years, Jake Hibbert (Warrington). In addition to the championship itself there are concurrent competitions for the County Team Championship, leading qualifier, Colts Cup and leading player over 35 years of age.

Wilmslow will, as always, provide a very good challenge off the back tees, with some slick greens and juicy rough in places.

The championship is over 72 holes, with 18 on both Thursday and Friday and then 36 on Saturday for those who make the cut.

The championship will be run by our Championship Committee chairman Stewart Neil and his team who, along with the host club staff and volunteers, put in a tremendous amount of work to ensure this and other championships are a great success. This is also the first Men’s County Championship under the Cheshire Golf banner.

Good luck to all who are playing. If you want to come along and see the best amateur men in the county you’ll be most welcome at The Wilmslow Golf Club.
