🇪🇸 A great week on the international stage for Cheshire’s Morgan Bollan. Morgan proudly represented Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 at the European Young Masters U16 Championships at Parador de El Saler Golf Club in Valencia, Spain, competing against the very best young golfers from 33 nations. Battling intense temperatures and challenging coastal winds throughout the week, Morgan produced rounds of +4, +2 and +1 to finish 10th in the girls’ competition and as the highest-placed player from Great Britain & Ireland, a brilliant achievement on one of junior golf’s biggest stages. With teams made up of 2 girls and 2 boys, a huge congratulations the @walesgolf team and coaching staff on an excellent week, finishing 13th overall against Europe’s strongest junior golfing nations. Still only 15, Morgan will be eligible for selection again next year when the championship heads to Belgium Morgan will fly back tonight and join the Cheshire Ladies team for the National finals at Betchworth Park. Congratulations, Morgan!

Cheshire Seniors v Lancashire An excellent result for the Cheshire Senior Men against Lancashire last week at a very sunny and beautifully presented Stockport Golf Club. The morning’s nine-hole greensomes produced a closely fought contest, before Cheshire delivered a strong performance in the afternoon fourball matches to secure the victory. Some excellent golf was played throughout, with both teams competing in a friendly and sporting spirit. Cheshire Junior Girls v Ringway Boys A wonderful day of junior golf at Ringway Golf Club on Sunday, 12 July. The match began with 18 holes of foursomes, where the Cheshire Girls produced an excellent performance to take a 2½–1½ lead. After lunch, the Ringway Boys responded strongly in the nine-hole singles to secure an overall 8½–3½ victory. The result, however, was only part of a thoroughly enjoyable day. Both teams played some excellent golf, supported one another and competed in the true spirit of the game. Congratulations to the Ringway Boys, and very well played to every young golfer who took part. A proud week for Crewe Golf Club’s Morgan Bollan, who represented Wales at the European Girls’ U18 Championship at Golf & Country Club Zürich. The Welsh squad was one of the 19 national EGA member teams competing. Competing against many of Europe’s leading U18 players, Morgan recorded 3/3 victories - successfully winning two x singles matches and her foursomes match too. An amazing performance for the U18 team at such a young age. Morgan’s selection and performance on the European stage represent another excellent achievement for Crewe Golf Club and Cheshire Golf youngster. A superb silver medal for the England U18 Boys at the European Boys’ Team Championship. England collected their runners-up medals after a hard-fought final against a strong Spanish team. A special mention for Cole Self from Cheshire who produced an outstanding individual performance throughout the championship —winning all three of his singles matches and taking his only foursomes defeat against Spain all the way to the 20th hole.
