Boys win Northern Counties Qualifying!

Our Boys team played magnificent golf in winning the Northern Counties Qualifying at Ponteland GC today. They also did it in style, winning by a huge 17 shot margin over Yorkshire with a 7 under par total of 713.We last won this event back in 2000, having previously won in 1997 and 98.

To add to the team success, Spencer Davies (Wallasey) took the individual prize with a magnificent -8 total of 136, followed by Laurent Beech with an equally impressive 138.

Our team comprised: Spencer Davies (Wallasey), Laurent Beech (Eaton) Maxi Moore (Sandiway) Cole Self (Ringway) Harry Kell (Sandiway) and Aaron Mohun (Delamere Forest) with James Clark (Sandiway) the reserve. Team Manager Andrew Henshall, President John Heggarty, Jonathan Kell and Steve Doughty plus some parents were there to cheer the team on to a magnificent win.

The win takes the team to Elsham GC, Brigg (near Scunthorpe) in August for the 3-day County Boys Finals where they will meet the winners from the Midlands (Cambridgeshire), South East (Hertfordshire) and South West (tbc) regions.

Congratulations to the players, coaches and all involved in Cheshire junior golf. A fabulous and memorable day for Cheshire !
