Upcoming change to ‘My England Golf’ app

New functionality is coming to the ‘My England Golf’ app, which will allow golfers to post scores from general play rounds to count towards their handicap indexes.

Players will be required to pre-register their 9-hole or 18-hole round on the app. Geo-location will ensure this can only be done within close proximity to the course.

Score integrity will be maintained by an enforced time-lag between the registering of intent to the time when a score can be inputted. A golfer’s final score must also be verified by a playing partner who has witnessed the round and holds a WHS handicap index.

Share how to download the app with your clubs

Are your clubs ready for the next stage of re-opening?

Join in with the ‘Captain Tom 100’

Captain Sir Tom Moore (pictured right with his golf-loving family) captured the hearts of the nation last year when he celebrated his 100th birthday by walking 100 laps of his garden, raising £38.9 million for NHS charities in the process.

Twelve months on, The Captain Tom Foundation is marking what would have been his 101st birthday with a fundraiser – the Captain Tom 100.

The event takes place on the weekend of 30 April – 3 May, and we’re calling on clubs and members to get involved with the event, which will receive publicity on a national scale.

Anyone and everyone can join in the challenge – simply dream up a challenge around the number 100 and raise money or donate to The Captain Tom Foundation or a charity of your own choice.

In golfing terms, it could be holing 100 putts, trying to reach 100 keepy-uppies or chipping 100 balls into a basket.
