High Noon Shoot Out at Sale

Thanks to the generous donation of two members, the charities supported by Sale Captain David Owens and Lady Captain Christine Johnston have received a big boost.
Back in June at a club BBQ there was an auction to play a round with their President Joanne Morley and her fellow professional star Alison Nicholas.
A massive £500 was donated by Sale members Mark Tully and Dave Wilson respectively contributing a whacking combined total of £1,000 to The Christie and Maggies Charities – the charities supported by David and Christine respectively.
It gave members and friends to come down and witness the once in a lifetime event at Sale.
Both Jo and Alison had stellar careers in golf at the top level across the world and most notably they led a victorious Solheim Cup team as Captain and Vice Captain in 2011 at Killeen Castle in Ireland winning by 15-13.
They had a glorious day of weather to play the match watched by enthusiastic supporters and it was no surprise that Jo and Alison triumphed by 4&2.
More generous donations on the day added another £300 to the charities and Captain and Lady Captain gave deserving thanks to the players and supporters.
