U14s lose narrowly to Alsager and Astbury

Cheshire Boys Under-14s team enjoyed a close contest as they lost by the smallest of margins, 4.5 to 5.5 to Astbury and Alsager at Astbury GC.
Team manager Graham McCormack said: “Yesterday, however, knowing our ability we could have at least come away with a draw.
“Even the losers had positives on the day, but…they need to go away and work on the negatives that were displayed.
“The hospitality by Astbury was first class and separate thanks have gone to Andy and his wife, Helen, who excelled.
“And as always, my thanks go to Jim McBride for his ongoing support.

“A special well-done goes to Buster (Airey) from Heswall GC, our guest for the day, who is still only 10 years of age, playing off 15, who had to give his opponent seven shots, however, that didn’t phase him, he won 6/5!
“Also getting the points for Cheshire were Jeremy Ju 3/2, Cormac Narey 5/4, Euan Courtney one up and Cruz Norton halved his match.
