This is the 60th anniversary year of the Cheshire Life Members. Introduced primarily to strengthen links to the affiliated clubs, the number of “Lifers” has swelled to over 1,000, with our fist ladies having joined after unification with the CCLGA last year. We have seven competitions each year at different clubs across the county. These fixtures are very popular and we typically have between 120 and 180 players at each competition.
Our first fixture this year was a tremendous day at Prenton G.C. where we had a field of 148 players. We then went to Reddish Vale where we always receive a first class reception. The course was in excellent condition despite the recent dry spell and the flooding experienced on New Year’s Day which caused quite significant damage.
Reddish Vale is an Alister MacKenzie course which sits on a very undulating piece of land and presents a really good challenge with a great variety of holes.
128 players took part in our usual pairs betterball competition. Winners with 43 points were Cliff Bagnall (Alsager G&CC) and Marc Williams (Hartford). Runners-up on 42 were Philip Dodd and Mike Mortimer (Prestbury), third Stuart Jones and Paul Clark (Helsby), fourth Carl Smith and Billy Blackmore (Runcorn)

Huge thanks to everyone at Reddish Vale for a superb day enjoyed by all of our ‘Lifers’
Our remaining fixtures this year are at Hazel Grove, Astbury, High Legh Park, Upton-by-Chester and Northenden
Life Membership of Cheshire Golf is open to all playing members of affiliated Cheshire clubs over the age of 18. Competition entry fees are £45 per pair. If you are interested in joining us, please see this page or contact us by email: life-members@cheshiregolf.org.uk
