Fabulous Charity Effort at Chorlton

Chorlton Captain 2025/2026 Peter Harrison Johnson was delighted to be able to present a cheque for £9,000 to his chosen charity of Kidneys for Life.

Peter said: “I chose the KFL charity because I donated a kidney to a lifelong friend seven years ago.
“I have known him since 1958 when we were both four years old.
“He was very poorly and on Dialysis and needed a kidney and I decide that I wanted to help him and ever since then my family and I have supported KFL as any money raised is vital for this small charity.
“Over the past year the main events have been – KFL Golf Charity Day, Fun Golf Competitions, Captain’s Charity Social Evening, Captain’s Dinner, A Million Steps Walk and donations from members.

“Giving me great support have been professional Dave Mackinnon and his team, Sharon Tiernan and members who have supported my charity through Fun Golf Competitions, Annika who did one million steps sponsored walk, Ken and his team for their help on my charity evening, Chorlton Golf Club for donating the Green Fees on my Captain’s Day and the generosity from the members of the club for donations and supporting me throughout my captaincy.
“Also my wife Hazel and daughter Laura who worked very hard to organise the KFL Charity Evening and also the administration throughout the year- I could not have done it without them!”
