Styal Juniors enjoy their Away Day Final

Styal Golf Club is justifiably very proud of the way they have run their hugely successful junior section for many years with several of their juniors going on to do well at county, regional, national and professional level with David Horsey being one of their outstanding stars.

Their excellent facilities and top class coaching are a vital part of their success.

Mark Johnson a Styal PGA professional who coaches at his club and with Cheshire juniors has been involved for many years with the junior development.

One of his development schemes is the Annual Junior Order of Merit and this year they had 45 juniors in the 18-hole Order of Merit and 72 in the par three competitions this year which have been supported by BMW Halliwell Jones,

Mark said: “This year we decided to have an away day for the final day and were delighted to play at Dunham Forest Golf Club and the top ten in the Order of Merit after our Junior Championships made it through to Dunham Forest where they had a great day.

The Order of Merit winners were Roman Hicks, Piotr Paszcza and Robbie Ellis were the top three.

“Our thanks go to BMW Halliwell Jones, RGB and Avant Junior Golf Clothing for their support.”
