Ladies meet to celebrate a superb 2025

Cheshire Golf has enjoyed one of the County’s best-ever years in its first year since the men and ladies unified in September 2024.

Cheshire’s ladies held their annual Delegates Meeting at the excellent venue of Vicars Cross GC and county officials and lady delegates from member clubs were able to celebrate one of the county’s most successful years ever and look forward to more to come.

The meeting was led by Cheshire Deputy President Marjorie Griffiths (Ringway GC) and she introduced county officials who were able to recall the special achievements enjoyed by Cheshire in 2025 in club, county, regional, national and international golf.

They were also briefed on Finance and Social Media Content and Communications by Dave Kimpton and Bob Hamilton and Golf Development by James Salt (Ringway GC professional).

Several plans for the future to continue the splendid progress of the county were also pitched to an appreciative audience.

Then the Trophy Presentation gave a further insight into what the county had achieved led by county legend and VP Lis Wilson who presented the Scratch Cup to winners Sandiway GC Lady Captain Anne O’Neill (image above)

Cheshire Senior ladies won the North Region Richardson Trophy for a record ninth successive year and Seniors Captain Jane Burke received the trophy from Caroline Berry (Northern Senior Vets President).

The meeting was concluded by Cheshire Chair Cleve McCurdy (Ringway GC), who supported the need to get

more girls involved at club and county level, and gave deserved thanks to all of the volunteers in golf clubs who have helped to put Cheshire up to such a high level in England Golf.
