A warm Welcome to New Ladies at Romiley Golf Club

Last year Romiley Golf Club had great success in recruiting and developing junior golfers and the main organiser Melissa Clapham was a runner-up in the junior organiser England Golf awards with great help from Anne Harrison and other club members.

Now in 2024 they have made great progress in recruiting new lady members.

Romiley professional Graham Drabble outlined the great work they had done during 2024.

Graham said: “We’re thrilled to share the fantastic progress of our new ladies who have recently joined the Romiley Golf Club community.

“Under the expert guidance of myself and Ben Thompson, they’ve taken their first steps into the game with enthusiasm and dedication.

“Thanks to their tailored coaching, these new golfers have already started completing a few holes on the new green course—a huge milestone!

“A special thank you goes to our current lady members, who have gone above and beyond to volunteer their time and support.

“Their encouragement, patience, and mentorship have been invaluable in making this journey a welcoming and enjoyable experience for the new ladies.

“A special mention goes to Melissa Clapham and Anne Harrison, whose dedication and encouragement have been instrumental in guiding the new ladies on their golfing journey.

“Their time, patience, and mentorship have truly made a difference and are deeply appreciated by everyone involved.

“It’s heart-warming to see the camaraderie and team spirit growing within our club. So let’s continue to celebrate their progress and cheer them on as they take their game to the next level!

Anne added: “Melissa and I are very excited to be taking another group of enthusiastic ‘new to golf’ ladies on board as well as continuing the junior development.
