Cheshire U14 team – Super finish to a wonderful season

Cheshire U14 team have enjoyed a busy and successful season and gained experience playing a range of different courses. They completed their season in style playing Caernarvon boys at the Conway Golf Club, the host too many top events over the years.

Team manager Graham McCormack outlined their progress over the last few months. “Congratulations to you all today, achieving an 8.5 to 1.5 win giving away 85 shots and not receiving any. “That, along with the handicap’s you’ve achieved, whilst playing against five Conway players is a credit to you and your dedication.

“Speaking on behalf of the back-room team, we were delighted that we were able to field the best 10-player team I can remember including Morgan Bollan, the Wales U14 Girls Champion and George Bull, North of England U14 Champion, and I thank all your parents, too, their support today was really appreciated. “Today has been a fitting end to an exceptional season, as we lose some of you to the U16s and U18s. For us it’s “start again” you’ve set the bar very High!

“My thanks to Conway Golf Club for their friendly welcome have been expressed via Iwan Owens, their JO, who has also been thanked for bringing this all together, we look forward to our return at Eaton next year. “As always, my thanks too, go to my colleagues, Jim and Mike and our pro, Matt.”

Winners on the day were Morgan Bollan, James Clark, Ricky Mohun, George Bull, Will Furness, Alfie Ogden. Shane Clayton and Alfie Dunbar. Max Gilsenan halved his match and our only loser was Austin Eastwood.
