Chris delighted with his new role at Wilmslow GC

Chris Billows (Pictured) has been the assistant professional for the past enjoyable five years at Wilmslow Golf Club.

Chris is delighted to be appointed as the club’s new head professional – only the fifth in the club’s 137-year history.

Chris came to Wilmslow with some excellent experience in golf at top venues such as The Belfry, Gleneagles and Abu Dhabi and being involved in some top events.

Chris said: “Coming to Wilmslow has probably been the most rewarding part of my journey so far.

“There’s something special about a private member’s club as you get to know people properly, build relationships and feel part of something.

“To be stepping into the Head Professional role is something I’m incredibly proud of.

“It’s a real privilege to be trusted with that position at a club like Wilmslow.

“I’m looking forward to building on what we have, continuing to make the club a welcoming place for everyone and hopefully playing a small part in its future for years to come.

“More recently I owe a huge amount to Matt Gillingham, my previous boss as his support, guidance and mentorship over the past five years have been incredibly important.

”Looking to the future there are several exciting projects in the pipeline including pro shop refurbishment and growing the junior and ladies sections.

“I’m just excited about what’s ahead, continuing to support the members, building on what we have and playing a part in the club’s future.”
