It was another great day for Cheshire Junior Golf as Lymm Golf Club were again superb hosts for the popular Cheshire Junior Team Championships.
The players, match officials and host Club put on a great show which went to the final group to decide the outcome of the competition.

There were over 100 players, boys and girls under 16 representing their clubs in teams of three with the top two Stableford scores added together to decide the winners.
In one of the hottest days of the year the players brought great credit to themselves, their parents, their clubs and Cheshire for the immaculate and mature way they conducted themselves on an off the course treating everyone to immaculate manners and knowledge of golf and living the golfing motto of ‘Friendship Through Golf’.
They also followed the instructions on how to deal with extreme weather conditions superbly on a long day in baking sunshine.
Alsager took an early lead in the competition with two of their teams posting 76 points with the trio of Fergus Clare, Ted Myatt and Aiden Percy, with a massive individual score of 46 being the top individual score of the day.
Then it was overtaken by the Antrobus team of William Lavender. William Corby and Henry Williams-Eden with 78.
And as usually happens there was a sting in the tail from the last group in with Brombourough’s team of Noah Ostick and Sarah Lunt seeing their team boosted by Isobel Smith with 38 points adding to Noah’s 39 but it left them just one short of Antrobus.
In ther individual competition Aiden Percy 46 was followed by Will Corby (Antrobus) 41 and Jimmy Brennan (Alsager) 40.
The presentations were introduced by John Tomlinson the Lymm Club Chairman and made by Cheshire President Marjorie Griffiths (Ringway) who gave deserving praise to players, club organiser, match officials and Lymm GC for their efforts in setting up another great tournament showing off the talent and organisation in Cheshire Junior Golf.

The winners will now go forward to represent Cheshire in the County team finals later in the year and for Antrobus it will be a new experience at this level with their first major Cheshire victory.
