Dan so close to Brabazon glory

Sunday 26th May

Dan Hayes, Bramhall’s young England star, came within a stroke of taking the Brabazon Trophy (The English Open Amateur Strokeplay Championship) to a play-off at Hollinwell today. The final day’s scheduled 36 holes was cut to just 12 holes due to forecast thunder and lightning. Dan birdied the 15th, 16th and 17th holes but could only make a bogey on 18 to miss out on a play-off with Gregor Graham.
A consolation for Dan was winning the George Henriques Plate for the leading under-20 year old player.

An excellent performance again from Dan who is clearly running into great form.
