Former Cheshire star Josh shines in the USA

Cheshire junior golf has produced plenty of top talent over the years and currently have many more taking up scholarships in the USA.

Providing them with a pathway is former Prestbury GC Junior and Cheshire Boys Champion Josh Turnock, the son of highly respected PGA professional Matthew Turnock

Josh was Cheshire Boys Champion in 2018 and did well in national competitions during the same period.

He was delighted to accept a golf scholarship at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) following in the footsteps of other Cheshire juniors James Newton and Lewis George

After completing his four-year scholarship Josh had a year of work experience in West Palm Beach working for a sports scholarship company before moving back to Arkansas to enrol for a Master’s Degree Business in Business Administration.

During this time, he was made Graduate Assistant Coach. He brought great success to the UCA team as they won the Conference Championship for the first time in 53 years to qualify for the NCCA Regional qualifier where they did well.

Josh’s great work with the UCA team was recognised and he was then offered the Head Coaches role on a permanent basis which he was honoured to accept. His team has made a solid start building well on the previous year’s results.
