Jack And Cole Awarded County Colours

The county is pleased to confirm that both Jack Nicholson (Vicars Cross) and Cole Self (Ringway) have been awarded their County Colours following further success this season. Both players have demonstrated a commitment to the county team over a number of years and more importantly it recognises their ability to win matches against the elite golfers from the other counties across the North of England. Jack made his debut in 2021 and Cole in 2023.

It’s also very encouraging that Cole has won the award as a Junior following in the footsteps of fellow Junior Dan Hayes who won his colours last year. After the sucess of the Junior Team in winning the National Finals hopefully more will make the breakthrough into the Mens team and achive their County Colours.

The formula used to determine the players eligible to receive County Colours are:

  1. At least ten appearances for the County
  2. A total of at least 16 points with a minimum of six points in singles matches.
    • 2 points for a single win
    • 1 point for a singles half
    • 1 point for a foursomes win
    • ½ points for a foursomes half

Points will be awarded for Northern League Matches only. Players playing in the Northern League Qualifying Round (Big 6) will be awarded 2 points.
