Anne ready for her New Role As Captain of the Manchester Past Lady Captain’s Society

Chorlton Golf Club’s star Anne Moizer (pictured) is delighted to have been appointed as Captain of the Manchester Past Lady Golf Captains Society and she brings plenty of skill and experience into her new role.

Anne outlined her time in golf: “I began my life in golf as a teenager at Blackburn Golf Club where my parents and grandfather were members.

“The Pro there gave Junior lessons on Saturdays and we lived very near the course. I loved it and heard of many family successes until I took golf up again at Chorlton GC.

“I joined there in 1984 as we then lived in Sale and my husband, Barry had joined Chorlton in 1978.

“The Ladies Section was big then and even though we are smaller now I have never wanted to play anywhere else—I love the Course and it is a challenge.

“I was Lady Captain in 1998 but have also done short stints on the Ladies Cheshire Committee and on the Manchester and District Ladies Golf Association.

“My lowest Handicap was 14 but those days are long gone now.

“I joined the Past Captains Committee two years ago—this will be my third year and when Chorlton, alphabetically, was asked to provide a Captain for 2025 I was honoured to accept the nomination.

“The Society Dates for 2025 are AGM February 3rdin Manchester, June 16th 18 hole competition at Hazel Grove GC,June 30th  9 Hole Competition at Oldham,

July 11 18 Hole Competition at Whitefield , August 8Finals Day at Chorlton, October 15 Annual Lunch at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground.”
