Cheshire Boys u14’s again rose to the occasion to pull off a big win over their Lancashire Counterparts at a challenging and well-presented Romiley GC course in strong winds.
Cheshire U14 team manager Graham McCormack said:”Congratulations to you all, a great win today 8.5-3.5 against Lanc’s U14s.
“More than anything take pride in the way you fought back when after nine holes things were not looking too good, however, your recoveries were magnificent, well done!
“As Mark (Johnson) said to you after the match, ‘Take away the good as well as the bad, keep tight hold of the good and work on the bad, It’s onwards and upwards from here.
“Piling up the points for Cheshire were Ricky Mohun (Delamere Forest) one up, Aian lam (Prestbury) one up, Jerem Ju (Hazel Grove 2/1, Alfie Dunbar (Heswall) one up, Tomas Balakrishnan (Wallasey) 5/4, Henry Quinn (Disley) 4/3, Cormac Narey (Crewe) 5/4, Jamie Yarwood (Sandiway) 5/4 and James Prest Romiley halved his match.
“My thanks went to Romiley golf club for the warm welcome and first class hospitality.
“Additionally, thanks to Mark Johnson, who played an important role, rallying the players on the back nine.
