IMPORTANT CHANGES FOR 2024:

All affiliated Golf Club members with an official WHS index will be able to subscribe for a free County Card from the start of April 2024. From this date the County Card is now part of the Golf Genius app. We no longer use the previous app provided by Intelligent Golf.

THE PROCESS TO SET UP YOUR APP IS AS FOLLOWS:

1) You first need to register online with Golf Genius to add your name to the Cheshire player database. If you are already registered and have a login, you can skip this step. To register, Cheshire Union of Golf Clubs (cheshiregolf.org.uk) go to this page, select Register and complete the form.

2) Next, go to the App Store and download the Golf Genius APP. You will need your CDH number and the email address and password you have used to register in Step 1 above. Note: the term ‘Affiliation‘ means your Home Club.

Once activated, the Golf Genius app will provide your club and handicap details* for identification and a tab for the County Card. You should show this information on your smartphone when visiting a club using the county card. The app is also useful as it shows any Cheshire events you have entered incl start times, and you’ll also get results etc. It also has a very handy course handicap calculator

*Note: your handicap may not appear immediately. Please wait till the next day (WHS handicaps are updated overnight) and your handicap index will appear on the app

Any questions please contact (temporarily in the Secretary’s absence)  life-members@cheshiregolf.org.uk

rules & regulations

To be entitled to a Cheshire County Card you must be:

A golf member of an Affiliated Cheshire Golf Club (Gentleman or Lady).

Your details will need to be on England Golf’s WHS platform and so have a recognised handicap index.

– Holders of the card can play at most Cheshire Golf Clubs, subject to their own rules and regulations of when the Card can be used.
– Holders of the card may play at golf clubs in other County Unions who participate in the scheme.

TO USE THE CARD YOU MUST:-

All clubs have their own rules as to when they accept visitors on the County Card and the discount offered. So you must phone or email the club in advance to ensure the County Card will be accepted and to make a booking on the date you require.

Produce your electronic card on request. Note that only card holders with a handicap index may have discount, so please ensure all those playing on the county card have it downloaded onto their mobile phone and have a current handicap index.

Card holders cannot book friends who do not hold a county card to receive the discount. This County Card is not open to members of England Golf’s iGolfer scheme (Independent Golfer).

Adhere to the host clubs rules and playing conditions of the day. Clubs set the rules around time the time and days of play and the cost of the green fee.

WHERE CAN I PLAY?

The majority of England County Golf Clubs have agreed to a reciprocal arrangement with other participating clubs in the county card scheme. You will need to check with the club you wish to play at to ensure they will accept the county card.
