Hartford father and daughter win Wheatseaf Trophy

Vicars Cross GC were excellent hosts for the Cheshire Girls Wheatsheaf Trophy competition.
It features some top Cheshire girls partnered by their chosen partner- relative, friend or Cheshire organiser in a Greensome Stableford.
The main organiser for the competition was Cheshire Girls Official Cathy Day who was first on the tee partnering Cheshire Girls Captain Naomi Willans (Astbury GC).
Cathy said: “I'd like to thank Vicars Cross Golf Club for their warm welcome and all county officials, parents and players for making the event so enjoyable and successful.,”
Joining them on the first tee were Summer Taylor-Potts (Marton Meadows GC) and Isla-May Handley (Congleton GC) who set a good benchmark of 41 points This was matched by Emilia Gravett (Styal) and Ellie Cunningham who lost out on a cpo.
The Hartford father and daughter Team of Paul and Jessica Corbishley then took control with a fantastic 47.
Cheshire Girls Champions Jess Flynn (Bramhall) and Cruz Norton (Northenden) with a great haul of 45 posed a late challenge but it was not enough to overtake Hartford’s Dynamic Duo.
The trophies and prizes were presented by Cheshire Girls Captain Naomi Willans to complete an excellent competition at a superb Cheshire venue..
For the first time it included a grandfather in Tony Smith (Stamford GC) who partnered his grand-daughter Olivia to a respectable 36.
