Life Members enjoy Bramall Park
180 Life Members have fabulous day at immaculate Bramall Park

The second Cheshire Life Members Event of the season attracted a full field of 89 pairs to enjoy a great day of golf at Bramall Park GC
It provided a really excellent course drawing great comments from players and also tremendous service in the clubhouse.
Heavy rain showers had been forecast for frequent times in the day but they kept away until the final group out led by Reddish Vale icon Dave ‘Two Breakfasts’ Sanders produced a deluge of rain which fortunately did not last too long.
Great credit to all players for playing at a good pace throughout a long day superbly organised by Jerry Dixon and Bob Hamilton.
The early leaders with 43 were John Coxon and Carl Smith (Runcorn) which was matched by David and Jimmy McCann (Mersey Valley) who for some time looked like being our first pair of brothers to win a Lifers comp. They were overtaken in the later stages by Steve Williams and Mark Cannings (Hartford).
But as so often happens there was a real sting in the tail as the penultimate pairing of Gary Squire and Sam Wright, who had made the long trip from Eastham Lodge in West Cheshire, hit the top with an incredible haul of 48.
This included five birdies between them on the back nine- not the usual standard of golf that life members are used to!
Nearest-the-pin on the 4th hole was Prestbury's Steve Kimber whose tee shot rolled up to 6 inches short of the hole.
But another great day for Cheshire Golf with players from across the county enjoying the experience.
