Firstly the team met at a windy Wychwood Park to take on their counterparts from Shropshire & Herefordshire. The 11-1 result is perhaps a little flattering as five matches went to the 18th with Cheshire winning four of them.
Next up, two day later, they played North Wales Counties for the annual renewal of the Phil Jones Trophy at North Wales GC. With two debutants, Chris Morfitt and Rob Thomas who both won. Team captain Neil Waite wondered whether the numerous large winning margins was something to do with the proximity of the 14th green to the clubhouse.
