Cheshire u14’s enjoyed their trip to Hale with a superb pre-match meal setting them up for a great day of golf at a scenic, challenging and well-presented 9-hole course on the banks of the River Bollin.

The Cheshire team introduced a few new players and showed their strength in depth with a comfortable 7-1 win.

Particularly impressive were Alex Le (Ringway), Finlay Baker (Helsby) and Phoebe Henderson (Wilmslow) with 6/5 victories.

U14 organiser Graham McCormack said: “Congratulations on the comprehensive win today.

“It’s been a pleasure sending a thank-you message to Hale pro Richard who did a fantastic job organising the match.

“Hale’s Captain made a point of welcoming us and it was also nice to see Cheshire President Marjorie Griffiths who came along to support the team.

“Hale GC were perfect hosts and their juniors are to be commended for their friendliness towards our squad.

“Also my thanks go to our squad for the way they have conducted themselves and given me great support this season- well done mums and dads they are a credit to you!”
