Cheshire Boys have worked hard to prepare for the 2026 season

Cheshire Boys had a fantastic season in 2025 winning the Four Counties Tournament, the Northern Counties Qualifier (The Little Six) and the English County Boys Championships. Preparing to defend their titles they have been working hard over the winter months to keep developing their talents.

Cheshire Boy’s manager Andrew Henshall outlined the work they have been doing: “We started back in September looking at those who had previously had coaching last winter and those whose handicaps and recent playing records suggested they may become future Cheshire stars. After seeing several prospects Peter Barber, John Heggarty whittled the squad down to 18 boys in each of the Under 18s, Under 17s and Under 16s. Graham McCormack (our Under 14s manager) with help from Mark Johnson and Matt Turnock then selected his squad; whilst Mark Johnson helped select the Under 12s.

Joel Doubleday, Harry Irvine, Joe Lewis, Ben Davies

The top three squads all had the same coaching over the winter with three one-to-one sessions with Peter or John at The Beeches, putting lessons with Jordan Massey at Torque Golf Studio, the physio coaching by James Thompson at Dunham Forest. which some parents attended it appeared to be extremely popular with all who went along and also a psychology session and 18 holes with Jordan Brookes at Eaton, Prestbury or Wilmslow .Our thanks go to these clubs for their support of our winter coaching programme.
