Cheshire Golf has been justifiably of its development of junior golf in the county over the years with plenty of success for Cheshire Boys and Girls in recent months.
Two of the top junior stars Dan Hayes (Bramhall) and Isabella Taylor-Stokes (Styal) have had great results in regional and national tournaments this season and this has been rewarded by them both winning places in the long-running Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Championship in December.
The final has been held for many years at the fabulous Quinta Do Lago golf complex in the Algarve.
Dan and Isabella will travel to play in the competition over several days beginning on December 9, which will have plenty of coverage on Sky Sports and the Daily Telegraph.
It features top boys and girls from across the UK who have qualified in top competitions during 2024.
The competition is in two sections for gross and net qualifiers for boys and girls.
Dan, aged 17 with a handicap of +5 qualified via five under par career high round at the Carris Trophy. and he will be playing in the Boys Gross Section
He has played home internationals for England men and will attend Louisiana University next year and over his junior years has been outstanding for Cheshire Juniors and men.
His golfing hero is Jordan Spieth as his putting caught his eye when he got into the game and his favourite club is his putter.
Isabella (pictured above), aged 17 handicap +1.9,qualified for the girls net competition in the Cheshire Girls Championship with a four-under par score to win the title for the third year running and she also just missed out on a place in the Women’s Open final qualifier.
Isabella is a student at Stockport Grammar School and her favourite golfer is Rory McIlroy because ‘he has faced criticism but is still one of the world’s best’.
Her own favourite club is her driver because she enjoys hitting the ball as far as possible.
The best wishes of all in Cheshire Golf go to the dynamic duo and we are sure that they will do the county proud.
