County President hosts guests at glorious Hoylake

The annual President’s Day for the County President had the superb venue of Royal Liverpool GC, Hoylake for the guests of Cheshire President John Heggarty. John is the former professional at RLGC and the first professional to be honoured with the Cheshire Presidency.

Following an excellent lunch the players were then able to play one of the top courses in England in excellent weather.

It was the first President’s Day for Cheshire since the unification of the Men and Ladies sections and plenty of ladies were there to enjoy the day.

John said: “On a beautiful day, Royal Liverpool provided the perfect venue for a most enjoyable day and I was delighted to present the prizes to the winner at the Evening Dinner.

The Team prize was won by the excellent team of Jane Matthews (Lady Captain of RLGC), Cheshire legends David Durling and Jim McBride.

“The other main prize was for the best individual score for the President’s Putter and it was won in style by former County secretary Steve Foster who scored 40 points.
