Bromborough use home advantage to beat Under-14s

Cheshire u14 boys enjoyed a second trip to the Wirral where they took on Bromborough juniors.

Team manager Graham McCormack said : “I would like to give a BIG thank-you to Bromborough Golf Club and in particular, Steve Littlewood, their new junior organiser, for making us so welcome today, as did all their players.

“The final score was 5.5 to 2.5 for Bromborough as unfortunately, we fell foul once again of the handicap differences, with several of our team trying to climb Mount Everest!

“The vital positive to take away from today is that they added Bromborough to their playing portfolio.

“For most of the team our next get-together is the 1-2-1 coaching session with Mark and Matt at ‘The Beeches’ on Sunday 22nd June and a reminder with slot times will be sent out later next week.

“Our next match is against Shropshire & Hereford U16s at Astbury on Saturday August 2 some six-seven weeks away, giving the players the opportunity and choice to play several challenging venues in the UK.

“Once more my thanks to my ever present cohort Jim McBride and all of the parents today – I value your support.

“Additionally, on your behalf, I wish Emilia a speedy recovery, we missed her today and we look forward to you being a vital part of our team for our next match at Disley on Sunday August 3.”
