The Cheshire Life Members competitions are played each month during the season at different courses across Cheshire and draw a full house of players every time.
Cheshire Golf now has close to 1100 Life Members having recruited over 70 in the past year.
A number of these made their debuts at the historic and superbly presented Chorlton course in a field of 164 players including seven ladies.
One of them was Abby Baumber (Sandiway), the Cheshire assistant secretary, who was partnering Denise Burchell (Sandiway) the Cheshire Ladies Captain.
Abby had a memorable moment as she holed out with a rescue club for a fantastic eagle on the par four 15th hole.
Also in the field was Cheshire President Marjorie Griffiths (Ringway GC) who also enjoyed the day.

The Chorlton course was in fabulous condition for so early in the season and all of the 164 players were very complimentary about the smooth and quick greens in particular.
Helsby Golf Club is the club with the biggest contingent of Life Members and they took the top two spots – Derek Evans and Brian Kennerley led in with 43 from Ric Harrison and Lawrie Holman who won a cpo on 40 from David Rathbone and Paul Shenton (Alsager Golf and Country Club) and Alan Tyler and Keith Jackman (Antrobus GC).
It was also pleasing to have Chorlton Captain Garry Steed pop in to welcome the Life Members on what was a very busy day for his club and organiser Jerry Dixon.
