Former junior star completes Mersey hat-trick

JUST under 100 golfers from the five Mersey clubs enjoyed some superb weather and a course in good condition as Didsbury Golf Club hosted the annual Mersey Championships.
The class rose to the top as former Cheshire junior star Adam Carr, who won three major trophies at his club in 2022, became the Mersey champion.
Adam won a card play-off on gross 71 from David Gittoes (Withington) with Mike Huckle (Chorlton) in third spot with 73.
It is the third successive year that Adam has won the trophy to the delight of his family and club.
It was also close in the nett competition with Ciaran McMullan (Withington) winning a card play-off from Daniel Harding (Didsbury) and next in on 68 was Drew Folland (Withington).
