Hannah nominated for National Award

Hannah Morrison (pictured) is delighted to have been chosen as one of the top three nominations for the England Golf ‘Women and Girls Trailblazer’ award which will be announced at the awards ceremony in Manchester in April.

Hannah outlined her remarkable progress and ambitions in golf: ‘l started playing golf at 12 years old at Chapel-en-le-Frith Golf Club, Derbyshire.

‘From there l went on to get my first handicap of 54! I dropped 30 shots in my first season and went on to play for Derbyshire Girls County representing them in matches and at County Week before going on to play nationally for the Women’s team.

‘One of my best amateur highlights was winning England Golf Champion of Champions played on the Bracken Course at Woodhall Spa in 2021.

‘On the back of this success l went on to turn professional in May 2022. My professional career has not gone as planned. I have not be able to complete previous seasons due to illness. I am excited to get back out competing on the Ladies European Access Tour and the Justin Rose Series this year.

‘I have been working at Mellor Golf Club for a year now and absolutely love it here. My role is Assistant Professional helping out with new lady members and juniors.

‘I am looking forward to the awards evening on Wednesday 2 April. I am also looking forward to and excited to start to study for my PGA qualification in October.

‘This qualification will help me to gain extra knowledge alongside playing. I hope to be able to able to go into local schools in the next few years to provide golf lessons and attract more junior members to our club.’
