Joan Goes ‘Wild’ at Prestbury

Joan Receive's the Trophy

The ‘Wild Cup’ is one of the major competitions for Prestbury ladies and is played for each year by ‘Over 60’s’ ladies at Prestbury in a Stableford competition over 13 holes.

This year there were 29 ladies in the competition and Joan Crouch probably set a record for the competition by being the oldest-ever lady to win the coveted trophy.

Prestbury Lady Captain Caroline Harrison-Crofts said: “Joan, who was 90 in February plays golf at least once a week in the 9-hole competition and she has a Handicap Index of 38.8.

“She normally walks the 9-hole competitions but decided that 13 holes at Prestbury is ‘a bit far’ and decided to use a buggy for the first time and it certainly paid off as she posted an impressive 33 points to hold off stiff competition from the 28 younger ladies in the competition and we were all delighted to see her presented with the Wild Trophy!”

Congratulations Joan from all at Cheshire Golf on this fantastic achievement. You are an inspiration to us all !
