Sale duo prevail at Davenport

The fourth Cheshire Life Members Competition saw a full field enjoy lovely weather, a lovely and well-presented course and top class hospitality at Davenport Golf Club.
The competition run impeccably by CUGC organisers Jerry Dixon and Bob Hamilton produced a tense finish with a cpo on 43 points going in favour of Sale’s Robert Barlow and John Simpson from Mark Corden and Steve Chapman (Tytherington) and Paul Shenton and David Rathbone (Alsager).
Just two points back were Martin Guest and Steven Preston (Helsby) who won a cpo from Adam Adams and Richard Lumsden (The Wilmslow GC).
On a warm day it was a pleasure for players on the 19th to refresh on the beautiful outside terrace area.
