Avro Juniors Celebrate Their Success

Junior Captain Cameron Farrer and Vice Captain Evan Courtney receive their official Club caps from John Isherwood.

Avro Golf Club, situated on the Stockport/Macclesfield border and adjacent to the historic Avro Aerodrome,  is not one of the biggest clubs in Cheshire but thanks to the work of many volunteers they have enjoyed another great season and are very proud of their development of junior golfers.

Led by junior organiser Iain Carroll, with help from dedicated members, they have enjoyed plenty of action on their immaculate course.

Iain said: “It’s been another great year for the juniors. Despite losing a few juniors to age we were able to recruit some new faces in 2024. We’ll be looking at bringing more new members in early 2025.

“We were delighted that our Junior Champion Euan Courtney has been selected to join Cheshire Junior Coaching sessions and I am sure tht he will do the club and fellow junior members proud.”

Avro club legend Vic Tarr added: “The Junior Section is a very important part of our club, introducing young people to the game of golf, which they can continue to enjoy for the rest of their lives wherever they may be. “Congratulations to everyone who has contributed to making the junior section a success in 2024 and may it continue to grow in 2025.”
