Clare ready to enjoy the next year at Ringway

Clare Hudson has enjoyed 23 wonderful years as a member of Ringway Golf Club ans she is ready for a very special one in 2025 as Lady Captain.

Clare said: “Ringway is very friendly club with a thriving membership, a superb golf course, a wide variety of competitions, great staff and an excellent social calendar.

“My lowest handicap was 15.4, now 16.6 and I will be aiming to play at least twice a week in the summer months.

“As well as golf I support Manchester United and being a bit of a wine and food buff I enjoy going to wine tastings especially at Portland Wine in Hale.

“My favourite hole at Ringway is the 17th, a challenging hole but the views from the top of the 17th over Manchester on a clear day are great and my other favourite club is The Roxburghe, near Kelso in Scotland.

“My own personal golfing highlight is winning Lady Captain’s Prize in 2008. After two rounds three of us were tied resulting in a three-hole play-off which I managed to win.

“My chosen charity is The Seashell Trust I will be supporting in my year as Lady Captain.

“If I could choose three players to join me in a four-ball they would be Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry and Tommy Fleetwood, all great players to learn from and the banter would be hilarious, plus Rory is a huge Man United fan!”
