John takes on Captaincy at Ringway

John Jarvis has been a member of Ringway Golf Club for 11 years and he is delighted to take over the reins as Captain of a club on the rise.

John said: “Ringway is a fabulous club, fast becoming the envy of Cheshire.

“It has a course which gets better year on year, fantastic staff and great camaraderie.

“My current handicap is 15.8, not far off my best of 15.2 and I will be looking to play three or four times a week in the coming months.

“My favourite hole at the club is the seventh where I have a love-hate relationship. It is an amazing but extremely challenging par four which at my level is better played as a par five.

“I am a season ticket holder at Manchester United and that is my only interest outside of golf apart from working with my company Property Perspective.

“My chosen charity ia North West Air Ambulance and I chose them because as an ageing motorcyclist (Not

often now) and a golfer I am aware of the fantastic work they do.

“In 2022 they had cause to land on the 18th fairway to attempt to save a very good friend of mine, past Captain and member of RGC Derek Atherton.

“Sadly on that occasion there was nothing they could do for him, however, we should never forget the lives they are able to save and the great work they do which receives no public funding.

“My own personal golfing highlights are a hole in one on a golfing break in France and being offered the honour of captaincy at Ringway.”
