Sarah looking forward to a great year at Sale

Sale Golf Club has strong bonds with Cheshire Golf over the years and their new Lady Captain Sarah Roper is looking to work with Sale, England and Europe legend Jo Morley to promote their club and recruit new ladies.

Sarah said: “We run a successful ‘Get Into Golf’ programme for ladies each year with Jo as the pro/mentor and anyone interested in finding out more can contact the Sale GC office.

“I have been a member of Sale for eight years after working in the Pharmaceutical industry for 32 years and my current handicap is 23.1 with a best of 21.

“Apart from Sale the other favourite course I’ve played is Lancaster GC.

“The par three 17th is my favourite hole at Sale as I have a 9-wood that was given to me by a close family friend and it often ensures that I hit the green and I have successfully holed out for a two several times.

“I play two or three times a week and my other hobbies are tennis and walking the dog.

“My chosen charity is CAFT- ‘Childrens’ Adventure Farm Trust’ and the ‘Sm

“My own personal highlight was hitting the fairway at the Captain’s Drive-in to rapturous applause from the big crowd watching!

“The three players I would choose to join me in a four-ball would be my mum Jo Morley and Aneka Seumanutafa.”
