CHESHIRE Boys Under 16s showed their power as they cruised to a big win over their counterparts from Staffordshire at the testing Alsager course.
The team’s intent and class shone in the Foursomes as they won all five games to storm into an impressive 5-0 lead
Lucas Kuiper (Stockport) and Harry Kell (Sandiway) set the tone with a 4&3 victory which was followed by wins from Cole Self (Ringway) and Aaron Lavelle (Royal Liverpool) 4&3, Ben Buchanan (Crewe) and Aaron Cullen (Royal Liverpool) 6&4, Ellis Courtnell (Ringway) and Lawson Yates (Ringway) 4&2, Louis Rickett (Eaton) and Jasper Hughes (Wilmslow) 3&2 and Will Furness (Ringway) and James Clark (Sandiway) also 3&2.
The afternoon singles continued as Cheshire maintained their momentum by winning the first nine games Lucas Kuiper 2&1, Harry Kell 6&5, Cole Self 3&2, Ben Buchanan 5&4, Aaron Lavelle 5&4, Aaron Cullen 2&1, Louis Rickett 3&2, Ellis Courtnell 5&4 and Lawson Yates one up.
Staffs gained some respite with wins over Jasper Hughes and James Clark before Will Furness wrapped up a very comprehensive win taking his game by 5&3 to put a big smile on Manager Ian Self’s face for the rest of the day.
