“Royal” Stamford serving the community

The Royal Stamford Golf Society have made a great contribution to the safety of golf club members at Stamford Golf Club, the furthest East club in Cheshire.

Stamford PGA professional Mark Smith said: “A small group of golfers led by local lad and Stamford member Del Griffiths came together a little over 12 months ago as the Royal Stamford Golf Society.

“Their group have developed daily towards near 100 golfers from across the local community.

“One objective they set was to make a life saving difference by installing defibrillators on our course. “The first installation of three defibrillators took place on our terrace which will be registered for public access on the National defibrillator network.

“A special thanks and round of applause to Del and every single member of this unique group of kind hearted golfers for their kind gesture. Also not forgetting our installation electrician Craig Peate.

“A Life saving contribution! Thank you guys.”
