Sean is up for the job

Sean Lucey (pictured) has been an active member of Macclesfield Golf Club for 12 years and he is looking forward with great anticipation to the coming year as the new club Captain.

Sean, who is the landlord of the Church House pub in Sutton, said: “Macclesfield is the friendliest golf club that I have been a member of in my golfing career and it is truly a hidden gem in the Cheshire countryside.

”My favourite hole at the club is the 7th – with best views of Cheshire as well as being a nice hole to play and my other favourite course is Trevose.

“My best handicap was 10, now 14 and I will be hoping to play twice a week in the coming season

“My hobbies, other than golf are watching football, walking and general fitness and supporting Arsenal and the charity I will be supporting is Alzheimers during my year as Captain.

“My own personal golfing highlight is winning the club championship one year then following that up with the individual championship in the following year.

“The other three players I would like to join me in a four-ball would be Dean Martin and Bing Crosby- just because I would love to hear all their stories and also Tiger Woods because he is a true golfing legend.”
