Unification is completed

David Durling (Chair of the Unification Committee), was delighted to announce at the Extraordinary General Meetings on Monday 23 September 2024, that the CCLGA and the CUGC, voted to merge and create Cheshire Golf Limited to become the home of golf in Cheshire for all.
Steve Doughty, County Secretary said: “Cheshire follow Lancashire and become the second merged County in the Northern Counties Golf Union this year and became the third merged county overall in the Northern Counties Golf Union behind Isle of Man and Lancashire and the tenth in England.
The Chair of the Board of Directors will be Cleveland McCurdy (Ringway GC).
Cleveland said: “Our aims are to promote and grow the game of golf in our county in a safe and friendly environment, welcoming everyone irrespective of age, gender and ethnicity; and

To represent and support golf clubs in introducing and providing a broad range of competitive golf for members of all ability levels.
“Also to reach out to all golf clubs to understand what they require from Cheshire Golf Ltd and how best to serve their needs and to create better two way communication between us.
“I, together with my Board, am looking forward to this new chapter.

The Board of Directors is: Chair – Cleveland McCurdy (Ringway), Director of England Golf & Northern Counties – Christina Hornsby (Heswall),
Director of Golf Development – Morgan de Vos (Sandiway), Director of Player Development – Josh Sims (Caldy), Finance Director – Dave Kimpton (Bromborough), Director of Championships & Competitions – Stewart Neil (Royal Liverpool),
Director of Communications – Tracy McGregor (Prestbury), Clubs’ Director – Simon Dangar (Eaton) and Steve Doughty will remain as Company and County Secretary.
