Top award for Marton Meadows

Marton Meadows Golf Club, near Macclesfield has been used by Cheshire as a coaching base for Cheshire Juniors for some time. The club has now have beaten off strong competition from larger, more established clubs to win a National Golf Award.

The GCMA (Golf Course Managers Association) ‘Team of the Year’ 2025 was awarded to the club after months of assessment and interviews. The results were announced at the biennial GCMA Conference which took place at the DeVere Hotel, Cotswolds Water Park,

General Manager, Chad Parker, and Assistant Manager, Lisa Harrop, were there to accept the award on behalf of the team. It was the culmination of a tough nomination process, that included a Dragons Den style interview at Royal Blackheath Golf Club, London.

Lisa and Chad with the Award

Lisa said: “Our entire team are already champions in our eyes, their warm welcome and commitment to customer service have always been second to none, but for their hard work and dedication to be officially recognised by a national governing body is truly amazing. We’re over the Moon.

The course at Marton Meadows once rated will be another step towards them becoming the 96th Affiliated Club in Cheshire.
