Lee Turner from Northenden Golf Club is looking forward to his new position as Captain of the successful Cheshire Senior Men’s team
Lee (Pictured) said: “I’ve been a member at NGC since 1989 … where I am currently a Director and have also managed the Scratch and Dunham Forest Teams for many years.
“I have been fortunate enough to play for the County Senior Men’s Team for the past four years since I retired from work,
“It the favourite part of my golfing calendar and I am very proud to be appointed as the latest Team Captain.
“Martin Keates has been our Captain for the past three years and I have big boots to follow after the Team qualified for the English County finals last season, representing the Northern Counties.
“The Team agonisingly missed out on victory at Harrogate.
“Martin has not escaped completely because I have asked him and the Captain before him Gareth Bradley to join me in our newly formed selection committee.
“I am looking forward to the new season a we have a very strong squad with the addition of some new eligible players.
“We are looking to improve our League performance and once again be challenging for the Northern Counties title. Hopefully a few new minor changes in coaching / tactics/ pairings etc will help make the difference this time around.”
